We needed to have a bathtub removed (that had been improperly installed) and wanted to restore our bathroom after some problems with a previous contractor. Frank came out to look at the bathroom and made some great suggestions. He gave us a very reasonable quote, which we ended up increasing when we selected the tile that had to be replaced (we selected more expensive tile). All in all, he and his team removed a large walk-in tub, reverted the plumbing back to the original location (it had been changed by previous contractor), which necessitated replacement of wall and floor tiles. We also asked for installation of a new toilet. Frank was very helpful in helping us determine how to get the materials we wanted and stay within a good budget. He worked with us on timing (since I am allergic to dust, they timed it for a period in which I was away), and his team arrived promptly on the day they started and finished precisely within the time frame they had set forth, a total of 4 working days. The quality of the job is superior to anything else we've ever had done. The work was meticulous and there wasn't a speck of dust when I returned home. Also, Frank's team was extremely professional and went out of their way to accommodate my allergies and protect the rest of the area around the bathroom from getting dusty. We love the work they did, it is really beautiful and just what we wanted. My husband and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We plan to use them anytime we are doing any kind of work like this, and in fact are planning on having them do some tile backsplash work in our kitchen soon. It was a true pleasure to work with Frank and his team and they did a fabulous job. It doesn't get much better than that

Fixall Home Repairs & Improvement Service

I have to say that out of 8 contractors these guys were the best in responsiveness and price. They know what they are talking about and are very personable. They are doing my bathrooms in a week so I will add another reply with pics to show you how good they are. They are a small company but thats great..I rather pay a small company then a big corparate company that uses shotty tile Like Home depot and Loews.. don't get Tile there, they will send you to the right place for tile and you will be able to tell why.. Fixall will be doing my deck and patio next, but I have to save for that..lol Also they will let you go and buy you own items for them to install instead of other companies telling you that you can't, you have to use theirs. A+ guys and compan

Excellent. West Shore Home workers were prompt. The new bathtub, fixtures, shower casing, shower rod, and shower installed in the main bathroom by West Shore were done in one day. We were delighted that it was no problem at all.

Stevens Co

when my tenant moved out of my house, one of the weird things she left with with was the state of the plumbing in my hall bathroom: the shower trim, and even the stem that interfaces with the shower body, fell right off the wall. I don't know what she was doing with it, but I had Stevens & Co come help me re-install it. The shower body & trim was from a weird brand, Rahl, which was a challenge for the plumber to figure out. But when I looked through my emails and found the receipt from when I ordered it five years ago, I went online and pulled down the installation instructions from the Rahl website, and then the plumber fixed it right up. I'm grateful that this plumber was willing to stick around and try to solve the problem instead of just declaring it "weird" or "unfixable" like I have had different plumbers say on other jobs. All in all, you really can't ask for more than to get a guy who wants to solve a problem and sticks it out until the job is done. So, thanks

Campbells Plumbing LLC

I am amazed! We contacted or tried to contact a few local plumbers to help us with our DIY bathroom redo. We knew we needed a pro but finding one was harder than we thought. We had some look at the job and wanted to replace all working piping with new, would not return calls, couldn’t seem to fit us in, or just was a no-show for the appointment. Not only did Campbells Plumbing LLC return our calls quickly, but showed up and did an amazing job! They are honest, are hard workers, provide great customer service, so we highly recommend them. We will call them instead of trying to DIY plumbing again

Remodeled bathroom. Installed new shower (taking out old bath), tiled floor and shower, installed vanity and faucet. Great job. Came back to make adjustments to shower door with no problems. Went to get extra tiles for us while we were on vacation too. Really helpful, responsive and accommodating.

CLARKE TILE

I wouldn't know. "Junior" came out to do an estimate on I believe it was late June or early July. He came on a Sunday. Appeared knowledgeable. Said he would forward quote within a week, but he was very busy and wouldn't be able to start work until September. I said that would be fine, as I had already been without my shower for two years. A few months wouldn't kill me. Never heard from him again and never received estimate

Ryan to the Rescue LLC
5.0
Ryan responded to my initial call promptly back in November, shortly after we noticed that our master shower was leaking into the room beneath it. He diagnosed the problem and recommended different ways we can handle it. A few days later he sent an estimate to me for demolishing the shower and installing a new shower, labor and materials included except the tiles which we would provide (he recommended a reputable company we ultimately purchased the tiles from and he subsequently picked the tiles up for us when the job was ready to commence). As the holidays were nearing we decided to hold off on gutting and replacing the master shower and opted to not use it until we were ready to do the work, thus, preventing further leaks in that meantime as well. We obtained two other estimates initially as well and Ryan was both the most reasonable and presented in a polite, helpful, non-pressured way which we appreciated. We contacted Ryan a few months ago to let him know we were finally ready and that we had chosen him. Ryan then visited our home again to do a walk through and discuss the job once more. We then took some time in choosing the tiles, Ryan picked up the tiles, and began work on time. He is very professional, works efficiently, explains everything that he is doing, and is extremely respectful of your home at all times as well. He is thorough in his preparation with respect to covering the floors fully, and his clean up effort at the conclusion of the job was the best I'd seen (and we've had a TON of work done at our home, mostly out of necessity), which included a full sweep and swiffering of our hardwood floors in places he had barely trafficked through. Ryan was also extremely helpful to us concerning an unrelated matter - our wet basement. Given all of the rain the past few weeks, including drainage issues and water getting into our basement, Ryan offered tips to us as to how to prevent the rain from getting in, i.e., if he knew more rain was on the way he'd text or call me to offer additional tips out of genuine concern for our basement. He also freely helped me pull up our carpet, remove the padding underneath, and help me to dry the basement floor as quickly as possible, which I am very grateful for. Ryan did a great job form start to finish, takes great pride in his work, works diligently, is very professional, and really cares about his customers. I wholeheartedly recommend Ryan to anyone in need of a handyman for just about anything in fact. If it's not something he deals with directly he can most likely direct you to someone who does do that type of work

FBT Tile & Marble Inc

Frank Brennan, owner of FBT, created fantastic first impression upon initial contact. He was prompt, courteous, responsive, provided an itemized quote for all work, and then allowed us to pick which room we wanted completed (i.e., phase work to be done). Because of his workload, we had to wait 8 weeks before the job could be started. Once the work was ready to start, the 2-person crew showed up early, made sure to protect floors to/from the front door to the bathroom, were always polite, and communicated clearly with us when problems arose. We encountered several problems once the project started, due to questionable repairs by previous owner(s). 1) Upon tearing up original flooring in bathroom, we found a non-existent subfloor that was more sand/dirt than wood. At one point, we were able to poke a hole through remaining subfloor and see into basement! Never deterred, Charlie and Jason ripped out the rotten parts, installed new subfloor where required, ensured studs were secure enough to accommodate existing tub (which was not supposed to be removed), and completed the flooring portion. 2) The shower tiling design had to be modified based on existing plumbing. The reason for modification was clearly explained and it was an easy decision to allow them to tweak the design to accommodate the realities of the home's construction. Additionally, because of the re-tile, the piping for the shower head did not extend far enough to allow proper fit of the shower head. FBT sent their plumber to extend the pipe. 3) Part of the job involved reinstalling the existing vanity once the floor was complete. Once the vanity was removed, however, we discovered plumbing issues that needed to get fixed and the need for a new vanity. FBT sent their plumber to the site so he could re-pipe the sink and allowed us time to get a new vanity. Some drywall touch-ups were required at the end of the job. FBT sent someone to skimcoat the drywall AND touch-up some of the grout that hadn't set from the initial installation. Every single person representing FBT made sure the whole job was done right and that we were happy from start to finish. We were thrilled with the customer service as well as the quality of the work and will be using FBT for future home improvements

Arts Home Improvement

I thought it went really well. This was my first remodel project on my first house, so I wanted someone trustworthy who could advise on various issues but without pushing me to a more expensive project than I wanted to undertake. I got 4 estimates, and theirs was very reasonable. I found Art to be very honest, helpful, and patient--even when I nearly changed my mind about the floor tile after it had been set in place. :-) I had some idea of the design that I wanted (a classic black/white pattern), but he helped to expand on my ideas, and I love the results. The tile work was done meticulously. Also, I have two cats who I was very concerned about, and they were careful to keep them out of the construction area. The guys were easy to work with, and I've already recommended them to friends. My only advice to someone undertaking a similar project is to try to put the materials on your own credit card. (He did ask me if I wanted to do that, but I didn't realize that I would only be able return excess materials for store credit this way.

Custom Design Tile

From the first phone call to the final day of work, Brian Brennan and his team from Custom Design Tile (CDT) were professional, prompt and courteous. The advice and planning prior to the start of the project was great - Brian did a fantastic job in helping guide us through the best type of tile for our project and outlined each step of the proposed project. Once the project began, the attention to detail was evident and Brian always checked in with a daily progress report. CDT did an excellent job of keeping the work area and other areas of the house clean throughout the duration of the project. The end product is a beautiful, functional shower. We couldn't have asked for better

I e-mailed Brian at Custom Design Tile to see if they handled shower installation, etc. Brian got back to me very quickly and we met shortly thereafter. The job was scheduled to begin within a few weeks (working around my schedule) and finished in a few days. Everything came together with no problems at all. The crew was on site daily, with no interruptions

The final product turned out amazing, even better than expected. Miguel and his team were friendly and professional and completed the work on schedule and on budget. The tile work was really excellent -- looks beautiful. There was a minor issue that occurred shortly after the work was completed and Miguel came over the same day I called him to fix it. Miguel communicated with me by text, email, and phone. I am very glad I chose Fast Fix Handyman. I will definitely use them in the future

Berith Builders

Dean Wolf came out, we described what we wanted. He took measurements and said it could be done. Demolition started and clean-up done. Construction started the next day and moved along well. Electrical, plumbing, tile masonry, carpentry and painting work all completed within schedule. All work cleaned up and no debris left anywhere. This is the third job done by Berith Builders and I would recommend them to anyone

Abbey Design + Remodel
5.0
We have lived in Northern Virginia for more than thirty years and owned four houses. Over that period, we have hired a number of contractors ? some good and some not so much so. It is always such a dilemma when inviting someone unknown into your home (your most personal space) to complete work that you would like to have done, while the whole time wondering if you made the right choice. Abbey Design Center is, by far, the best firm we have worked with in the Northern Virginia area. We contracted with them to design and remodel our master bathroom. This was a major project that included removal of the soaker tub, relocation of the shower, installation of all new fixtures and tile on the floor and walls. When we signed the contract, they were scheduling the start of the project in September with three weeks as the projected project completion time. Then to our surprise, they called in August and had an unexpected opening to start. We were thrilled. We knew we made the right choice on the first day. When we returned home, everything was tidy and most of the demolition was completed. We were shocked at the care taken to remove everything, with no trash left behind on the property and no big tub taking up entirely too much room! It was very exciting to come home every day to see the changes and take pictures to share with our family and friends. Their workmanship was excellent and evident at every step, from the demolition to setting the tile. Many of the pluses: they finished a week early, we had the same foreman, Roberto, and his crew on the job every day (those were consecutive days), they cleaned up every day before leaving, and they took care of little unforeseen issues without complaining or asking for more money (we wanted an extra light installed that was not specifically discussed beforehand). Jimmy Nazemian and his team where very professional and a pleasure to work with on this project. Unlike experiences with other contractors, Jimmy was always available to answer questions and often initiated calls, emails, or texts to us when something occurred that he thought should be discussed. We will hire them again, and intend to do so in the spring for a small kitchen remodel (new tile and counters). If you are looking for a firm that does high quality work and gives good value, you should contact Jimmy at Abbey Design Center

American Bath Remodel, LLC

We had a very positive experience with American Bath. They removed a fiberglass bath/shower and installed a new tile walk-in shower, replaced the vanity sink, and painted the bathroom. Ron, the owner, met with us twice to discuss options, each time getting back to us very quickly with his proposal (and changes the second time). Jasen and Dale spent about a week on the job. They arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up after themselves every day. Everyone we dealt with (including Steve and Stephanie in the office) was pleasant, punctual, and efficient. Our new bathroom looks fabulous. We had a few questions after the work was done, and Ron and Jasen were responsive and willing to change things, but in the end we did not change anything. I would definitely recommend American Bath for bathroom renovations
